Energy Upgrades: Hot-Humid & Cold Climates

03/29/2012 - 1:30pm - 3:00pm

In early 2011, the PNNL/ORNL team launched a pilot study to provide technical assistance to 50 homes that are undertaking deep energy retrofits to save at least 30% (and reaching the 50% level in some cases) of the whole house energy consumption. This presentation will summarize the range of predicted savings, selected case studies, current status, lessons learned and some of the challenges ahead for deep energy retrofits.

By attending this session, participants will

1. Learn about several deep energy retrofits that are occurring in cold, marine, and hot-humid climates and gain insight on what a “deep energy retrofit” really is
2. Learn about how modeled savings compare to realized savings using utility bill information and metered data
3. Understand some of the lessons learned and challenges for implementing deep energy retrofits on a large scale

Type: 90-Minute Breakout (WS)
