Volunteer-Based Programs are Part of the Home Energy Solution

This session highlights multiple ways that volunteer-based organizations are reducing energy use and making low-income homes healthier. Presentations will cover tools and training to integrate energy efficiency and healthy homes into volunteer home repairs. Innovative approaches will feature: different partnerships volunteer organizations have forged with weatherization programs, leveraging new funding sources and financing, neighborhood-based strategies, and homeowner education.

By attending this session, participants will

1. Understand the range of strategies volunteer-based organizations are pursuing to reduce residential energy use and make homes healthier
2. Identify multiple opportunities for weatherization programs to partner with volunteer-based organizations
3. Recognize new funding opportunities that volunteer-base organizations offer for reducing energy use and making homes healthier
