PITTSBURGH, PA – January 4, 2012 – Daryl Hannah, film legend and environmental activist, will be the keynote speaker at the ACI National Home Performance Conference, March 26 – 30, at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, Maryland. The annual event joins the leaders in the home performance and weatherization industry with professionals looking to begin or expand their careers by sharing expert knowledge, exchanging best practices, and offering innovative products and technologies.
Hannah, who has been an effective, passionate activist and advocate for a more ethical sustainable world for decades, will speak on Wednesday, March 28, at 8:30 a.m. to thousands of attendees prior to the start of the core conference. Over 200 presenters will engage attendees at the event which includes more than 150 sessions focused on energy efficient home performance and weatherization strategies and making homes healthier, safer and more durable; an exhibitor trade show; in-depth workshops; and the ACI Home Energy Leadership Summit. Hannah is a greening consultant for large-scale events and a frequent keynote speaker at conferences, universities and symposiums around the world.

Hannah is also the founder of the Sustainable Biodiesel Alliance (SBA), certification program and set of best practices for sustainably produced, harvested and distributed biofuels and sits on the boards of the Environmental Media Association (EMA), Sylvia Earle Alliance, Mission Blue, the Sustainable Biodiesel Alliance, and the Action Sports Environmental Coalition. She has received numerous awards for her advocacy and activism and has written articles on self-sufficiency and sustainability for numerous magazines.
